Recipe 4 Success, Inc. - Educational Consulting, Coaching and Placement

Shellie P. Riley, MA, MFA/JD is the Founder of Recipe 4 Success, Inc. Educational Consulting, Coaching and Placement.

Preparing bright children for academic success requires more than tossing intellectual ingredients into a bowl and hoping for the best.  Satisfying and nourishing recipes combine things that can’t always be measured by grades or scores:  a healthy helping of curiosity, a pinch of inspiration, a dash of rigor and the organization to bind it all together.  Every student has unique interests, goals and learning styles, and the most effective one-on-one teaching models are based on these.

Shellie's consulting practice stands apart because she is a REAL TEACHER who has touched the lives of every academic subgroup including Early Childhood, Special Needs, Advanced Placement, Highly-Gifted and Talented and Undergraduate and Post Graduate populations.
With over 20 years experience as Master Teacher, Federal Programs Adviser, Preparatory and Post-Secondary Admissions and Transition Counselor and Family Advocate, Shellie Riley supports and advises educational populations from Pre-K through University Levels.

In addition to earning concurrent Masters of Fine Arts and Juris Doctorate degrees from UCLA, Shellie carries Elementary, Secondary and CLAD (English Language Learners) California Teaching Credentials as well as a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. A proponent of Single-Sex education for women, Shellie is a proud Alumna of Marlborough School in Los Angeles.

As a specialist in Socratic Instruction, Shellie has trained generations of educators to employ hands-on, child-centered, project-based teaching strategies. Shellie founded Recipe 4 Success, Inc. on the premise that purposeful learning comes through experiential acquisition, not rote memorization or rigid, one-size-fits-all, cookie-cutter instruction.

Currently, she and her husband raise two elementary-aged children enrolled in an Independent School.  Shellie proudly brags that her children could care less about educational pedagogy – They just want to have fun.
